Knight Riders of Kolkata

Mr. Shah Rukh Khan launch his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday, 11th March 2008, among much fanfare and media hype. Juhi Chawla, a dear friend of Shah Rukh and partner in his company Dreamz Unlimited, along with husband Jai Mehta was also present in the launching Ceremony. Knight Riders is one of the eighth cricket team playing in Indian Premier League. The team will be led by our prince of kolkata Sourav Ganguly. John Buchanon will coach the team. As usual, Bazigar manage the whole launching ceremony smoothly with his charisma. SRK explain that the name of the team was chosen for the youth, keeping in mind that, this team will lead Kolkata to a glory by knights (Players) with shining armours.

He unveiled the team jersey in black and gold and the Helmet. Black stands for Godess "Maa Kali" and gold resembles "Victory". The Cricket kit is designed by famous sportswear company "Reebok" and the jersey by famous designer Manish Malhotra.

SRK also launch the official website of the team http://www.kolkataknightriders.com/ The theme song of the team is "Korbo, Lorbo, Jitbo re.." which means "will do, will fight and win.." The mascot of the team is HOOG-LEE , a Royal Bengal Tiger and SRK told he is better than all the LEEs put together including Bruce Lee and Bret Lee.

Captain Sourav Ganguly said, he is honoured to be a part of the IPL and to lead the Kolkata Knight Riders. He also mentioned that Playing for Kolkata In Eden Garden with 90,000 supporters is always special and. Moharaj also said "we will make kolkata proud."

The best part of the whole thing is that SRK mentioned any extra money earned from the matches will spend on development of soccer in Bengal. So friends, lets keep our finger crossed and pray Both Sourav and Kolkata Knight Rider storm the IPL and bring glory to all of us.

See my pet birds

I was awfully busy last few weeks. I already have 4 Cockatiels and 8 lovebirds, thouhgt you would love a glimpse of them.



This 4 cockatiels are grey and lutino, 1 pair each. So that they do not feel lonely.



I have got 8 lovebirds. 6 of them are Lutino, no idea regarding the other two. My guess is, the blue one is from a blue mask lovebird and the other from a cross betwwen blue mask and peach faced lovebirds.



In the mean time, my budgeriggers are on a egglaying spree. But this one broke all the previous records. Seven eggs in a single nest? :O

Start Of A New Core

Wow! it is ready to write, but will i able to? thats more important, i guess ;). O.K. lets start by introducing me. Hi all, I am Anshuman 38 years old and happily ( can't disclose the truth, wife may read someday :D ) married with a single kid. A marine engineer by proffession and gardening is my hobby. I live in howrah, which is situated beside the Ganges and only 15 kms from our state capital Kolkata. Basically i am sort of introvert type of person, but when i am with my friends, they only listen. Computer and internet is one of my main interests, and truly speaking it fascinates me. You can learn so many things, but still here, it is not used as per its full potential.

I also have pets; a few budgies and finches and some koi and other fish in my pond. Speaking of budgies, i am going to get some more tomorrow and cann,t wait to see them. My pond is badly in need of a UV filter, but it is still not available in Kolkata yet.
